Causes of pollution

Causes of pollution
There many causes of pollution. The major causes of pollution are as follows:
1) The smoke coming out from vehicles, dust, and sewage, etc create air pollution.
2) The smoke coming out of industries, burning of plastics, dust etc create air pollution.
3)The fire wood, the dried cow dung used as firewood, the straw of maize, etc cause
Smoke and the polluted dust particles also create air pollution.
4) The water gets polluted if dirty water and sewages and drains are directly mixed in
River tanks, lakes and ponds.
5) The substance coming from the use of chemical fertilizers and poisonous medicines
Make the water polluted.
6)Soil pollution is caused by the storing of soluble and insoluble dirts on the earth.
7)The goods made of plastic, glass and metal cause soil pollution.
8)More use of chemical fertilizer and insecticides cause soil pollution.
9)Noise pollution is caused by the places where roads and buildings are constructed.
10) Noise pollution is caused the sources of music such radios and T.V.

Sources of pollution

Sources of the Pollution

Pollution is caused by introduction of undesirable and harmful elements in our environment. Such undesirable elements may be poisonous substances, substances, disease germs, smoke, dust and dirt particles, harmful bacteria, etc.
The sources mainly responsible for the pollution are as follows:
1) Industries:
Various types of industries are developed today due to urbanization in the country. The smoke, dirty water, gas coming out of industry and the solid wastes are thrown carelessly everywhere cause pollution. The pollution caused by the gas, the dirty water and solid waste of industries are known as industrial pollution.
2) Pesticide and Insecticides:
To kill the germs of food grains, to protect the wheat and paddy from the plant diseases, to kill bugs, rats and other insects, pesticides and insecticides are used.It caused air pollution and soil pollution. Thus pesticide is one of the source of Pollution.
3) Chemical Fertilizers:
Chemical fertilizer is one of the source of the pollution. Chemical substance is being used excessively today. There is more use of chemical fertilizer in the agriculture than compost manure which caused soil pollution.
4) Somke:
Smoke consists of finely divided particles produces by complete combustion. It consists predominantly of carbon particles and other combustible materials. The use of firewood coal, kerosene etc cause smoke which is source of air pollution.
5) Noise:
The sound produced by increasing number of buses, trucks, motor cycle, train, etc are the source of noise pollution.

Pollution Management

Pollution Management

Air, water, soil, biotic and solid waste pollution are rapidly increasing all over the world. It is threatening the survival of human/people and the living creatures on the earth. It has been big challenge before humans to cope with his problems because it always produces negative effect which ultimately ruins the life of human. No one can escape from the negative effect caused by the increasing pollution. IT is, therefore, necessary to adopt such measures which would be able to solve the burning problems of pollution. Hence such measures are to be adopted which could easily control the growing pollution in different areas.
The following basic aspects are important to make the pollution management a success:
(a) Assessment of environment impact
(b) Control of degrading environment
(c) Management of production, technology and resources
(d) Publicity of environment education
(e) Development of scientific and intellectual efficient

Effect of pollution

Effects of Pollution Justify Full
Pollution affects the natural resources and creates problems for the survival of the human beings, wildlife, animal, and other living organisms. It also affects the natural, cultural and physical beauty of the materials.
The effects of the pollution are discussed below:
1) Wildlife:
Environment is the basis for the survival of wild life. They get fresh air, water, food, etc from the environment. It is difficult for them to grow, reproduced, develop and survive in the polluted environment. Forest clearing, forest fire, unmanaged settlements, etc are illegal activities. These activities damage the habitats of animals living in the forest. It results in the extinction of valuable wildlife.
2) Animals:
Pollution also affects the animals. Air pollution, soil pollution and water pollution creates negative effect on the food articles and shelters of animals. Air pollution makes it difficult for animals to breath. Soil pollution, flood and landslide destroy the shelter of animals.
3) Natural Beauty:
Environment Pollution affects on the Natural beauty. The Natural beauty affect by Pollution are listed below:
(a) Plants
(b) Air
(c) Water
(d) Soil
(e) Cultural Beauty
(f) Physical Beauty etc.

Types of Pollution

TYPES OF POLLUTION
There are mainly four types of pollution:
1)Air Pollution
2)Water Pollution
3)Soil(Land)Pollution
4)Noise(Sound)Pollution

Air Pollution
Air pollution is caused by accumulation of dust around us, in our homes and streets, which are blown around, smoke coming out of the things burt in our homes, and petrol and diesel used in the vechicles, and disease germs spread in air due to accumulating filth. Air pollution result from gaseous emissions by burning of firewood, corpse residuces, dung, kerosene oil, coal, etc.

Water Pollution
Water pollution is a local regional and global environment problem. It is connected with air pollution and how we used the land. When air pollutants fall to the earth, they can become water pollutions. Fertilizers and pesticides we apply to croplands run off into nearby water. Increase in population has resulted in enormous increase in wastes, which, in turn, pollutes our valuable natural water sources and drinking water supply sources.

Soil Pollution
Soil pollution is caused by indiscriminate uses of fertilizer and pesticides. It is also caused by poisonous waste products coming out of factories which are mixed up with soil. Soil pollution leads to decrease in cro-production and quality of the soil.

Noise Pollution
Noise pollution is an unpleasant sound which cause discomfort.Unwanted sound produced from bus, motorbike, train, ship etc are known as sound pollution.

Environment and Pollution

Introduction to Pollution
One of the acute problems in our country arising out to increase in population is pollution. Pollution means decrease in quality of good breathable air, drinking water, and cultivable soil. Pollution is caused by introduction of undesirable and harmful elements in our environment. Such undesirable elements may be poisonous, diseases germs, smoke, dust and particles, harmful bacteria, etc.
Pollution can be defined as a change in the physical, chemical or biological characteristics of air water or soil that can affect the health, survival or activities of human in an unwanted way. Pollution is thus direct or indirect change in any component of the biosphere.

Some definitions of pollution are as follows:

1)Pollution is the addition of unwanted substances or effects(pollutants)which adversely alters the natural or man made environment.
2)An undesirable change in the physical, chemical or biological characteristics of air, water and soil, that may create a hazard or potential hazard to the health, safety or welfare of living species is called pollution.(K.C.Agrawal)
